I'm glad to hear your kids loved it.

I'm with you, Tuck, in that I don't think this film is in any way inferior to the classic screwball comedies. In fact, I think I actually enjoy watching WHAT'S UP, DOC? more than BRINGING UP BABY.Damian Arlynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07937513879456460221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7296977375979154438.post-71198633334577101782012-03-11T19:09:12.871-07:002012-03-11T19:09:12.871-07:00Damian, you know we've talked about this film ...Damian, you know we've talked about this film and it is one of my favorites -- and formative for my sense of humor. I too have always liked Streisand as an actress - when she is at her best she is really good. It's too bad that Bogdanovich didn't continue on with a stellar career. That's a mystery to me. But we see that with all too many artists. I have showed this to the family before, but now I think it's time for another showing. I know that Bogdanovich was taking a gamble to make a film that would be compared to some great ones of the past, but if you go back and watch those films you find they are still great but not necessarily any better than What's Up Doc? They're just iconic because of their place in cinema history.Tuckerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11561135235230975798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7296977375979154438.post-15172415774029259642012-03-10T16:44:34.066-08:002012-03-10T16:44:34.066-08:00Oh, yeah. I showed it last year to my kids and they absolutely loved it (even my wife was cracking up). Also, this film was one that showcased San Francisco to great effect (and that's saying something from a native and rival Angeleno). Love this film. Well done.le0pard13https://www.blogger.com/profile/09421175808461787862noreply@blogger.com
